Atlantique Nord en voilier

You are never lost because you are always somewhere.

2 avril 2008

We have finally arrived in France and now the adventure begins. Upon arriving in Paris on the morning of the 31st of March, our 1st challenge was to find the train station in the direction of Angers, a small city of 200,000. Our trip was absolutely out of this world. Our 1st ride on the TGV, a high speed electric train, Paris to Angers, 300km in 1.5 hrs. Talk about fast, and smooth. Our charming hosts, Michel and Christiane greeted us with open arms. Michel is the captain of the sailboat that I will be sharing. Upon seeing Bonnie, our sailboat, I quickly realized that there was work to be done. Early Wednesday morning the work began. There were electric cables for a winch to be installed and the sanding of the keel to be done. After one day the majority had been completed. We plan on leaving around the 7th or 9th of April. Good preparation and careful planning beforehand is the key to a safe voyage.
